The Final Countdown!

dooo doo do.. do do do do00... It's the final countdown! (just try to get that song out of your head now LOL)

Well this is the final stretch. The last 2 days of school. I think everyone is MORE than ready for it to be over with. Zoe was having a hard time getting motivated to head on out the door today, but I reassured her that today would be an easy, breezy kind of day. I also let her head on out the door with a cute purse that Diane Di Tullio and her little cutie Lauren made for Zoe a few months back. So that helped out a wee bit.

Our last soccer game was this past Saturday and the kids did an amazing job. It was by far their best game of the season and we ended up tying with the other team. Both teams were very small with only 4 kids each, so all the players on both of the teams had to play the full game. But every kid out there on the field gave it their all. It was so much fun to watch.
Afterwards, John and I treated the kids and their fams to a huge bowling party. I swear that the kids had more fun bowling together than they did the entire season playing soccer together. Everyone had a blast and I sucked it up, as per usual, at bowling. I can't stress enough how bad of a bowler I am. Let's see I think I had 64 my first game and 93 the second. PATHETIC.
John had a trophy made up for each of the kids and Zoe received the Super Keeper Award for being the best lil' goalie out there. I am still stunned by how awesome she is in the goal. We are still discussing whether or not she will play soccer again next year.

In scrappy news:

Here is Audrey's sketch and what she says about the challenge!

So this month, I challenge you to use my sketch to create a page featuring Webster's Pages products. The sketch and my page using the sketch are already posted into the Monthly Challenge June Sketch gallery accessed through Photos, All Albums.Upload your photo to our gallery and link your page to this post. Winner will receive a collection of Webster's Pages papers of the winner's choice.Deadline is 12 pm EST on June 30th.Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Also, Bad Girls has some fun things up their sleeve as well. If you don't currently receive the Bad Girls newsletter, you should sign on up for one at the home page! Wendy announced that Bad Girls will be adding custom acrylic STAMPS designed by one of my fave girls Cari Fennell. I have already seen a peek of the stamp for July and it is beautiful! Also, I have a wee little article up in the newsletter as well, so I KNOW you aren't going to want to miss out on that now are you. The title: Getting Down and Dirty with Paint!

And two of my DT's are both celebrating their first birthdays in July! Bad Girls and Paper Trunk are both turning 1! And both sites are planning some awesome things for next month, so check make sure to come and check out the blog for more details to be announced soon.

I however will not be turning 1 in July but 30. Yes 30. I have mentioned it several times before LOL and now I can feel the weight of 30 on my chest and I am ready to get it over and done with!

I have one last thing to share really quick like and it is this fabulous looking Crockpot Chicken and Dumpling recipe that I think I shall have to make for dinner tonite. I got this in my allrecipes.com newsletter today. Which if you don't get this newsletter you had better go sign up for it as well :) http://www.allrecipes.com/

Here is the recipe if you would like to try it as well :) It was submitted by Janiece Mason.
INGREDIENTS
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons butter
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 onion, finely diced
2 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into pieces
DIRECTIONS
Place the chicken, butter, soup, and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with enough water to cover.
Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About 30 minutes before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.
I think I will make a few revisions and add some more veggies and a bit less onion and a few spices in there I am sure but all in all it looks and sounds like a quick and tasty meal for the fam!
Have a great Monday all! and stop by and say HI. I know you are out there :)

I love that recipe for Chicken and Dumplings! I've made it a few times before and we both loved it. Hmmm, I think you just helped plan one of our weeknight meals :-)

Oh, and I seem to remember that bowling was not your strong suit before either :-) Break out the bumpers!
