I have been tagged.

My wonderful friend Cindy Tobey tagged me this past weekend and I am just now getting around to responding. Now she tagged me with a tag that I have already been tagged with LOL say that 3 times fast, so I am going to kinda mix up the questions a bit.
But Cindy, I love ya girl and thanks!

Instead of 10 years ago, I will go with
10 years from now:
I will be 40! I hope to have gone back to college by then and have a degree. In what..I am still not sure but I am thinking of graphic design. Zoe will be 17 and graduating highschool. Good Lord that just seems insane and oh so scary. Heck maybe she and I can go to college together LOL!

5 things to do today:
confirm Zoe's dentist appt.
fold laundry
make homemade chicken pot pies! YUMMY! first attempt wish me luck.
do dishes
clean bathroom

Snack of the week this week:
swiss cheese (don't ask me why though. I cant keep my hands off it!)

Instead of the if I was a millionaire question, I will go with if I had 100 dollars to spend at this very moment:
I would go splurge on some Amy Butler and Heather Bailey fabrics and get to work with this new sewing machine that is gathering dust!

Instead of 5 places lived, I will do
5 places I would love to travel to:

Scotland
Santorini
Egypt
France
Italy

So there ya have it!

I guess I had better get hopping on all the dang house work I have building up! Have a fabulous Tuesday all!

Sneaky kind of girl.

I have got some sneaks for you all if you want to check them out!
and if not, well then close your eyes I guess LOL

These are peeks from the August Bad Girls kit. Some yummy yummy goodness in this kit. And do you see the Five Fave Fridays ode in there?!?! Kirsty, I went and scrapped it LOL! The Bad Girls kit goes live on the first of the month and check out the other Bad Girls blog on my side bar to see some more sneaks. I am really excited to see how everyone else interpreted this months kit.

Also a HUGE WELCOME to 3 new designers at Bad Girls!!! Heidi Sonboul, Bethany Kartchner and Emelie Ahern are the newest girls to be added to the team. Each of them have such a fabulous and unique style and I am thrilled to be working alongside them :)

Need some quick birthday ideas? We are still hosting and posting birthday projects over at Bad Girls as well. Tracie Hudson made a cute little treat bag that you don't want to miss out on. Ania created a fun birthday calendar that is not only easy to make but would look adorable atop any desk. Or maybe you would just like to learn how to make a BEAUTIFUL floral embellishment, Anna Bowkis has ya covered! These are just a few of the many projects that are still up at the site and as always FREE!

Hope that you all had a fabulous Monday! This girl has to go get dinner started. Chicken soft tacos anyone?

Five Faves Friday!!!

Friday already AHHHHH!!
I can't believe how fast this week has just flown by. What happened to Monday huh?

Today my Five Faves list will be from all the wonderful CHA goodies I have seen out and about and can't wait to have in my little paws.

In no particular order:

#1. Making Memories Paperie- once again MM comes out with a beautiful line. Who can resist these gorgeous flowers?

#2. KI Memories Sheer Delights- These look delish and wonderful. Really wanting to see these in person.

#3. Basic Grey Offbeat- This is my favorite out of their new lines. I have to admit that BG has lost me for the past several releases but I am really loving what they came out with this time.

#4. Creative Cafe- They have so many goodies coming out that it would take an hour to do a post LOL but here are a few that caught my eye. Make sure to check out their new blog as well. There is the CUTEST felt purse idea on there. I am thinking I need to make one for myself.

and last but not least #5 American Crafts Moda Bella-

So those are a few of the goodies that I am wanting to add to my stash. How about you??
If you posted a 5 fives list please link me up :)

Have a great day all!

Trying to keep our heads above water!

Both Zoe and I.

For the past 3 weeks Zoe has been doing swimming lessons M-Thurs and this girl is hilarious. She does everything and anything she can to keep her head above the water. Now bobs she is perfectly fine with, but when it comes to getting her face in and "swimming" she tries everything she can to keep from going in. But I am seeing progress and expect this kiddo to be doing some mean dog paddling next week. And at 70 bucks a pop, I think I should be demanding it LOL

Me...I am trying to keep my head above scrappy water. We have been so busy the past few weeks. I feel like I am running around like a chicken sans head. I got my Bad Girls kit which is GORGEOUS and havent even had time to really dig in to it. And everything is due in ohhh 5 days LOL.

I have a super something in the works right now that I can't quite talk about but am CRAZY excited for and need ya all to keep your fingers crossed for me!

Right now I am trying to multi task by cooking dinner, working on a layout and blogging at the same time. I am fully expecting the fire alarm to go off any minute now LOL. WOULD NOT BE A FIRST!

I just wanted to say HELLO, I am still alive and will hopefully have more time to put a decent post together. I have seen some KILLER CHA photos and lots of yummy stuffs I must have :)

Happy Wednesday all. And be thinking about your 5 faves for Friday! It is just around the corner!

Webster's Pages CHA release and Five Faves Friday!

Let's start with some yummy goodness from Webster's today! Shall we?
Terri Conrad the product designer for Webster's did a BEAUTIFUL job with these new papers. Very feminine and shabby and I really love the color combinations on these new releases.
There are two new lines: Reflections of Nature (top) and Inspired (bottom).

I was sent the Inspired Collection to use and was really blown away at how pretty and vibrant the colors and designs are.

In addition to the new paper lines there are new Journaling calendar sheets (top) and BRAND NEW Journaling cards (bottom) (and I LOOOVE me a good journaling card!).

Plus.....the creme de la creme.....new TRIMS! I can't wait to see these.

Here are the two layouts I made using the new Inspired line:
First off is a layout of Zoe at the beach. This kid just adores the sun and sand and the waves.

Second layout I did about me turning 30 and the inspiration from it came from a tag off a shirt that I received as a birthday present. It said Wear it, Declare it. Thought that was fitting.

Would you like a chance to win some new Webster's CHA product???? Well then you had better come on over to the inspireME site and check out this thread. All you have to do is leave a post that says what YOUR favorite new line is! That simple.

And now the moment you have been waiting for: My Five Faves!

#1. Good birthday presents- Such as my new sewing machine, the adorable Japanese tea pot and cups my mom got me along with some tasty tasty tea (which I am sippin on right now) and some much needed clothing. And no I don't have any pictures right now LOL SORRY!

#2. The Who Rock Honors- So the Who was honored by VH1 this week and so all week long we have been watching documentaries about the Who like hours and hours worth. I learned a bunch about the band that I didn't know. Such as that Pete Townshend writes all the songs himself and if you have ever listened to Quadrophenia or Tommy albums then you know that this man has got to be some kind of incredible genius! Last night was the actual Rock Honors show where they had Foo Fighters, Flaming Lips, and Pearl Jam OMG Pearl Jam freaking BLEW THE ROOF off that place. I had goosebumps the entire time I was watching it and Eddie Vedder is still hot as all get out! *sigh*

#3. Mallrats- HBO has been playing Mallrats this week and I feel like I am in high school again. You know 13 years ago when Jason Lee was still hot. So many hilarious lines in this movie "Fly Fat Ass Fly" being one of my favorites. This movie shall never get old to me but definitely makes me feel old because it looks like it was filmed about 50 years ago and I kept laughing at the outfits saying I can't believe I used to dress like that.

#4. Fresh Fruit- Our plum tree in the backyard is just loaded with plums. There is nothing better than going out and picking off a piece of fresh fruit that has been warmed by the sun. The strawberries here are delish and are all but gone now. But raspberries, blackberries, loganberries and the like are all over at the fruit stand and Farmer's Market.

#5. Scrappy Fave of the Week- Paperie by Making Memories! This line looks GORGEOUS and I MUST HAVE IT! Check out their blog today cause they always have so many fun things going on!

Best wishes to all my friends at CHA. I hope everyone has a blast and I am going to be having a special Five Fave CHA finds this weekend :)

Junk in the Trunk Thursday!

The Paper Trunk Newsletter is Live today! Carrie does such a great job putting the newsletter together and our Guest Designer Rachel Theall did a FANTASTIC job as well. I loved her layout in there. All of the layouts feature the new Wrangler line and I have walked away inspired to go use it some more this week. Anna Bjorklund KNOWS how to rock the Paper Trunk!

So head on over and check it out :)

Here are a few of layouts that I have made using the Wrangler line:

It has been so hard finding the time and mass inspiration to scrap this week. I am working some Webster's Pages layout with the GORGEOUS new papers and will have them posted tomorrow. This week I could definitely use a clone LOL.

I have been keeping my eyes peeled for all the new sneaky peeks and am still lovin the Pink Paislee peeks the best I think. What about you all? What have been your fave sneaks? Link me up so a girl can drool ;)

A day full of Births

Well this weekend it was RAINING BABIES. Yesterday two of my friends both gave birth to their long awaited new miracles. Nalo was born to Onikka and Brice at 5am yesterday followed up by the most beautiful little girl Grace born to my best friend from high school Jamie and her hubs Aaron at 7:30. Congrats to both of you :)

And today is the day of my birth....all those 30 so long ago years. I haven't cried yet. Don't think I will but heck ya never know LOL! John was a sweetie and put together a surprise birthday party for me last night where my fam was waiting at McMenamin's for dinner. Had a couple of very tasty pear martinis and Zoe got me...well she wants to tell herself...i got her a sewing machine!!! So my Mother's Day gift turned into a Birthday gift LOL . I am really excited to sit down and figure out how the heck to use it. I see some baby blankets in my future for all these new babies we have around here ;)

And CHA this week! WOO HOOO! I can't wait to see all the fun things that are coming out and happening during this week. I know Making Memories has a killer blog party every CHA and I camp out there all day long. And at inspireME, I have a feeling there shall be a NEW CHA PRODUCT giveaway while Brandin and Terri are out of town!! Just a hunch ;) So make sure to stop by the site, see the SNEAK PEEKS and be on the look out for a giveaway.

Gonna finish up my coffee and get this day going.

Five Faves Friday!!!

Ahhh the sun is shining, I am pumped full of coffee and am ready for Five Faves Friday.
So let's get it started...

#1. Bubble Gum Ice Cream- Zoe and John went to the store the other day and brought back some bubble gum ice cream. YUMMO! It makes me feel like I am 10 years old again and stopping at Ridgeway Market after school for the 75 cent 1 scoop that is really 3 scoops ice cream cone.

#2. Adult Swim line up on Cartoon Network- This has saved me from many nights of boredom!

  • Oblongs
  • Squidbillies
  • Home Movies
  • Mission Hill
  • Family Guy
  • and one can't leave out Metalocalypse

And if that isn't enough the website had got TONS of hilarious games: Gigolo Assassin LOL!

#3. Curling up on the couch with a good book. Currently I am re-reading Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon. Now if you haven't read the Outlander Series by Diana YOU MUST! If there is one book that you have to read this year it is Outlander, the first book in the series. You will fall in love with the characters and the story is just phenomenal. I have to read it every year at least one time. Breath of Snow and Ashes is the last book that Diana has written thus far in the series. It is a little harder to get thru than the previous books but it is like saying hello to an old friend. Any other Diana fans out there??

#4. CHA madness!!!! CHA is my favorite time of the scrappy year. So much fun to see all the sneak peeks and be in the middle of the craziness. I love going from site to site checking out all the fun peeks at the cool products that are going to be coming out. And recently fell in love with Karen Russell's new line....TO DIE FOR GORGEOUS! Check out her blog for her sneaks: http://www.karenrussell.typepad.com/ YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS!

which leads me to my

#5 Scrappy Fave of the Week..........PINK PAISLEE Could these glitter pixee stixs be any cuter? Fabulous fabulous idea! And if you haven't already...they are hosting a blog party with 12 chances to win some new goods!! So head on over and check that out. www.pinkpaislee.com/blog

So there is my fave 5 for the week. Have any to share? link me up!

And this is my last weekend as a 20 something...Monday is the big 3-0! So I had better WHOOP it up while I still can I suppose. Have a fabulous weekend all!

Insert Quirky Witty Title Here

Cause I have got NOTHING LOL....
We have had a busy week here in our household. Swimming lessons have taken over and I have just been too dang lazy this week to post anything on the ole bloggy blog.

I did manage to actually make a layout and had a lot of fun playing around with some Webster's Pages papers whilst waiting for my CHA papers to make their way to my house. They are just hours north of me right now and should be here tomorrow! HOORAY! So be looking next week for some fun CHA sneak peeks both here and at the inspireME site. In the meantime, here is a quick layout that I made. The lefthand side is a bit cropped now that I see it up close LOL but ya know pretend it isn't ok.
Also Melissa Phillips is host to this month's challenge at the inspireME site and we all know what a fabulous crafter she is! So come on over and check out her challenge, it's adorable!!
And don't forget...tomorrow is 5 Fave Friday!!! And my list is almost complete, only need one more item to add.
Ohhhh and I wanted to say CONGRATS to my friend Davinie for having her fabulous mini album she made for the Cosmo Cricket DT try out that was featured in today's 2peas newsletter! It looked FAB in there dahling, just FAB!!!
Happy Thursday all.

Five Faves Friday on the Fourth!

If you haven't noticed I have a slight obsession with alliteration LOL. Gotta cram as many words that start with F in my title today.

This week I struggled oh yes I strugged to come up with 5 new things that I just loved...well I managed it and just barely.

#1. Kettle Chips- I am not sure if this is a chip that can be found nationally or not. It may be just around the Pac NW. But man I love me a good Kettle Chip. My fave is the Honey Dijon.

Now not only do they make killer chips but they are made here locally in Salem and Kettle Foods company also is very enviromentally friendly. They use their cooking oil twice by recyling the oil to be turned into bio fuel for their company cars. They use both solar and wind power to run their plants, and use high quality all natural ingredients. And well they taste dang good!

#2. Foil Pack cooking/Kraft Foods Magazine- I love getting my Kraft foods magazine in the mail and this week I actually sat down and made a list of 5 different dinners I would try from them.

Foil-Pack Taco Chicken was at the top of the list. And I have to admit I have SEEN THE LIGHT! I can't believe I have never cooked this way. I thought the dinner was fabulous and my family made fun of me for taking a picture of dinner to post on my blog. John asked if I wanted to remember the plate of chicken for all eternity and then he and Zoe just laughed their butts off at me. The picture posted is NOT mine by the way. I am too lazy to upload my own LOL Here is the recipe and if you are in a jam and need a quick dinner, I urge you to try this at home. The possibilities for this recipe are endless. Use what you have at home. I am thinking of doing a dijon version of this and then maybe some kind of pesto combo as well. And instead of chicken breast halves I had some chicken tenders and used 3 to a pack and some organic peach/mango salsa.

Foil Pack Taco Chicken
4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.)
4 tsp. TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Taco Seasoning Mix
1/2 lb. red potatoes, thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
3/4 cup KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Reduced Fat Four Cheese Mexican Style Cheese
1/2 cup TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Thick 'N Chunky Salsa
1/4 cup BREAKSTONE'S Reduced Fat or KNUDSEN Light Sour Cream

HEAT oven to 400°F. Sprinkle chicken with seasoning mix. Place 1/2 cup potatoes on center of each of four large sheets of heavy-duty foil; top with chicken, cheese and salsa.
BRING up foil sides. Double fold top and both ends to seal each packet, leaving room for heat circulation inside. Place in 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until chicken is cooked through (165°F). Cool 5 min. Cut slits in foil to release steam before opening. Top with sour cream.

#3. Olay body wash with creme ribbons-On the never ending search for a good body wash that works and actually softens your skin, I ran across this wonderful product. Zoe and I were in the body wash aisle, smelling everything on the shelves and decided to give this one a try. I said to myself "what the heck is a creme ribbon" and found out that it is kinda like a shaving cream. The product is like half body wash/half shaving cream and works like a charm and smells fantastic.

Here is a link for samples and offers from Olay- http://www.olay.com/samplesandoffers/

#4. Neutrogena Sunfresh Sunless foam- Every extremely white girls dream! This has been my favorite self tanner so far. I am as white as snow and my legs are the ongoing joke in our group of friends. It took a few times for me to get the application just right but all in all I am pleased with the results and thought I would pass this one on to my fellow pale girls out there!

and my Scrappy Fave of the Week

#5. Sassafras Lass papers- I had so much fun working with them in the Bad Girls kit. I can't wait to get to play with some more. So addicted to the fun trim and the bright colors and designs they have. I am really excited to see what they come out with at CHA! I will have my eyes peeled for them for sure!
Happy Fourth of July to you all! I hope you have a fabulous day with your families!
And of course as always, if you post a Fave list on your blog hook me up :)

Some BG goodness!

Man can you believe it is Thursday already? This week has just literally flown by... I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a list for tomorrows 5 Faves and heck if I can' t think of ANYTHING yet. Ughhhh. Anywhoo...

The July kit for Bad Girls went live the other night and it is divine and sold out I believe. But here are the projects I made with the kit Whimsical Wonderland. I loved the combination of Making Memories Noteworthy and Sassafras Lass papers. Also kudos to my friend Cari for having her very own stamp debut in this kit!

My first layout is Big Seven. I got the kit like 3 days after Zoe's birthday so I just had to do a birthday layout with it. And wouldn't ya know that the papers matched her little dress just perfectly. I trimmed the die cut MM Delaney sheet in half and then used the second half to make a cute little card. I used 2 different MM journaling sheets (How I ADORE their journaling notepads!) and couldn't resist adding some of my fave embellies by Amy Butler. I can't make a layout without using one of those die cut shapes. They match EVERYTHING!

For Love Ya, the design scheme was based around the MM journaling blocks. Zoe wanted to be an active participant in the layout and wanted to do some journaling (which is her favorite part). So we came up with the idea to each journal on the Why I Love You sheet and then had my friend Pam snap a couple of shots while she was here scrapbooking with us.

I love how Sassafras has added the decorative edges on their papers that you can use on your layouts. I hope that they have set the trend for more manufacturers to do the same thing.

Every month Wendy (owner of BG) challenges the DT. This month it was to PILE IT ON. Put as many items from the kit as possible onto your layout. This was a HUUUGE challenge for me because I am pretty much embellishment impaired. But I found that once I started, I couldn't stop. So I apologize for any sudden blindness or seizures that you may incur from looking at my LO. And yes there is a picture in there somewhere amidst all the clutter. Ohhh and there was some adorable fabric in the kit this month that I could use over and over again had I an endless supply!

And last but not least: I made three little cards.
Your New Home uses a Sassafras arrow sticker that I turned into a little house and some fun Doodlebug velvet paper for grass.
Thank You Deer Friend uses the second half of the MM die cut sheet from Big Seven and that cute lil Bambi deer that I really had no idea what to do with LOL.
And Hello uses Cari's stamp (the blue baroque frame) and a Basic Grey rub on, oh and some adorable MM Noteworthy flowers as well. I loooved playing with those!
So if you haven't checked out Bad Girls kits, head on over and take a gander and see what you think. There were 5 addon's this month and with sassy names like Mystic Music, Fleur Fairies and Fuzziwigs Robotic Lab...well there is sure to be something for everyone ;)
ohhh and you MUST stop by the DT gallery and see what the rest of the team did! I was just floored at how amazing the layouts in there are and humbled, oh so humbled.
I hope that Thursday is finding you well and that you are all thinking about a Five Faves Friday list :) I would love to see some more people hop on board!!
