Five Fave Wednesdays?!?!?

Five Fave Wednesdays?!? No you haven't entered the Twilight Zone, I am posting my 5 Faves on a Wednesday. I am not gonna be able to post on Friday so I figured I would just jump ahead a few days :)

#1. Step Brothers- I am a huge Will Ferrell fan. I love this guy. John and I have stalked Blockbuster no less than 4 times to get this stinkin movie. And OMG is it HILARIOUS. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are just too funny together and look like they are always having the best time. Raunchy, crude and all around awesome. Loved this movie and want to watch it again!

#2. & #3.- Grape Crush soda in a bottle and Stouffers Deluxe pizza- the Breakfast of Champions. I am actually having the both of them right now. After having breakfast for dinner several times last week, I am all breakfasted out and have had this breakfast twice this week. Super tasty!

#4. The Dieline.com- I found this gem via Modish the other day and it has got some insanely cool packaging ideas on it. I can already tell that this site is going to be another one of my addictions. Here are just a few of the gems you can find on there:

#5.- Scrappy Fave of the Week- I am going to have to go with...spanish moss. Sounds silly, I know but I have been having a lot of fun using spanish moss on my altered projects and Christmas ornaments. A little bit goes a LONG way!

I have a couple of layouts to share as well today:

First one is a layout I did for Webster's Pages. Using the new Hello!Beautiful line and their new Old World journaling cards:

And this lil beauty here is for my friend Jamie! Merry Christmas!! I hope you like it :)

So I guess that is it for today! See you all soon :)

Five Fave Fridays

I swear I thought today would never come. What one long, sluggish, draggy sort of week. Yet in the midst of it all, I did manage to find some great things....so on with the show!

#1. Allrecipes.com- If I need a recipe the first place I head is...no not foodnetwork.com but allrecipes. User friendly, can find just about anything and everything there and I found 2 gems this week.
First up is the BEST blondies ever. So easy to make and oh so sweet and tasty!
Next is a great sugar cookie recipe. I am the Queen of Crappy Sugar Cookies, but this one turned out fantastic.
Check those recipes out next time you are in a cooking mood!

#2. the 2009 Dodge Challenger- I am in love with a car. My lil sis Ging can attest to this. She was in the car with me when I drove by and saw this gorgeous work of art at the car lot and about crashed. If only Santa loved me enough to have one of these wrapped up in the driveway on Christmas morning!

#3. Hashbrowns with sausage gravy- this is my favorite breakfast. I could eat it every day without tiring of it. I am not much of a breakfast type of person, but throw some sausage into the mix and I am all over it.

#4. Paper and Stitch blog- along the same lines as my other faves- scoutie girl, designmom and modish, Paper and Stitch highlights all kinds of cool handmade goods, has awesome give aways and is fun to spend a good half hour at! Check out each of these sites when you have a good spare hour to kill because ALL of them have GIGANTIC giveaways going on right now!

#5. Scrappy Fave of the Week-there is something to be said about a good vintage trim. I love lacy frilly trims. I just can't seem to get enough!

So that is is that for this week!
TOMORROW the Graphic 45 blog will be featuring the Bad Girls Design Team. This month the Bad Girls Kit was full of Graphic 45 shabby goodness. So stop on by and see all the wonderful things that both Bad Girls and Graphic 45 have to offer!

Now I have to go make myself pretty for the Alcan Christmas party. Wish me luck, cause I am going to need it tonight!

Hey You Guys....

Just a little Goonies line for ya there.

Today I just have a few layouts to share.

Here is my lil monkey at the pumpkin patch. She picked out not one but 2 pumpkins. A big one to carve and one for a pet. And wouldn't you know that I NEVER took a picture of the pumpkin after it was carved?!?! I used a mix of Basic Grey and Amy Butler papers, Making Memories ribbon and journaling spots

This layout has pictures of my Gram when she was a young girl. I love how dolled up she is in these pics. I used Prima papers, flowers, recycled a bit of their packaging and their oh so gorgeous bling and combined it with Making Memories journaling spots and some Thickers letters.

This last layout makes me wish I was 25 again LOL. I found some lyrics from a Fleetwood Mac song called Songbird. I used papers from Prima, Creative Imaginations and Hambly. Added some Prima bling again and the Making Memories journaling spot that I can't seem to quit using. Added a few Prima flowers with Little Yellow Bicycle metal brad centers and some Making Memories ribbon and Heidi Swapp letters.

So that is all I have for now peeps. Have a good evening!

Monday, Monday

So this Monday wakes me to insane cold and fog outside. BRRRRR my tootsies, they are a-freezin'.
It also means I have some Bad Girls and Design X goods to share with you all.
This month at Bad Girls the December kit was filled with tons of Graphic45 and vintage goodies.

In keeping with the vintage theme, I used heritage photos in all of my layouts. Be looking for my article in the upcoming Bad Girls newsletter on using heritage photos!
I found this picture in a pile of OLD photos. My Mom estimates it was taken anywhere between 1890 and 1910 and on the back of the photo/postcard is a letter from one of my ancestors describing his hardships and inquiring about the whereabouts of one of his sisters. Pretty amazing really!

This layout has pictures of my Mom and Aunt on their new bikes. My mom said that her sister hated her bike but my mom remembers being so excited to have one.

This layout turned out to be my favorite that I did this month. I found an enormous amount of pictures of my Gram when she was younger. I couldn't believe how happy and light hearted she was in all of these pictures. Totally different Gram than the one I knew. I adored the beautiful Prima flowers in the kit this month. They are gorgeous!

Is that Bad Girls post card not the cutest thing or what. It is the little things like this that make BG kits so much fun. This layout was made in response to Wendy's challenge for the month of December.

For my project this month I made a Welcome to Our Home sign using Graphic 45 papers. I cut out the cute little city buildings and little car and used some Jenni Bowlin crepe ribbon for the trim of the roof.

At The Design Experiment, the challenge this week is to scrap the craziest thing that you have done. I have done more crazy things than I can think of but here is one of my crazier times!

A friend and I went to see a WWF match and ended up getting booted out of the stadium and she landed in jail for reasons I still do not know! Too much beer+ two wild and crazy girls=Crazy Ass Shit!

So that is it for scrappy stuff for today. Enjoy your Monday!

Five Fave Fridays Baby!!!

Ohhh dear 5 Fave Fridays, how I have missed thee. Heck I can't remember the last one I posted, and what better post than today my 100th blog post. I never thought I would make it this long. You know, being a serial blog killer and all...

So here it goes

#1. Anna Maria Horner and this crazy cute dress pattern: her blog has been such an inspiration to me the past few months. I find myself stopping over there daily just to see if she has posted any new yumminess and I am totally lusting over her new book!

#2. another dress but we gotta have some shoes thrown in as well. Anthropolgie- if I was only allowed to shop at one store for the rest of my life...this would be it. I totally want to rock this dress and these amazing shoes. Ohhh to dream!#3. I have a thing for scarves and my latest find on etsy has me drooling and no doubt you will too. I present to you FRAY and this scarf that I desperately wish I could make! Every scarf in her shop is a piece of art, without doubt. Check her out!#4. Brownie edges- John's birthday was a few days ago and he requested brownies. The funny thing is he doesn't like the edges and I ADORE the edges. So around here a brownie pan always has it's center missing while I take a week to eat all the edges and corners. How can you NOT like the edges?!?!

#5. Scrappy Fave of the Week-Jenni Bowlin crepe ribbon. Jenni just comes up with the most beautiful scrapbooking products. This ribbon is so versatile and fun to play with. I really want to get some of those cute journaling tags as well!

So it feels good to be back on the 5 Faves wagon again. Did you post today? if so hook me up ok! I would love to read some lists!

and I can't forget to say

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BREE! My friend for 26 years now! Which just sounds crazy. Love ya!

I just had to come back here and say my kitchen literally cried when it saw these cuties!! It wants them, I just know it!

A couple of Christmas goodies

Well as Christmas is RAPIDLY approaching, I have been busy trying to finish up my shopping (only those last super hard people to shop for are left) and I have been making a few gifts as well. This is where teaching myself how to knit has come in rather handy ;)

I realized that I never posted my full project for the recent Bad Girls Christmas Workshop. I made a Holiday Recipe box. If you want to recreate this yourself, the full instructions are still up in the Bad Girls forum. You do have to be registered at the site to be able to view, but signing up is simple and fast.

I love the idea of recipe boxes. I have one that is stuffed full right now and I thought having a pretty decorative box to store favorite holiday cookies, candies and over all yummy goodness would be not only useful but decorative as well.

Paper Trunk's newsletter is up and running! The theme:homemade gifts. I made this little birdhouse ornament.

I bought this cute little bird house at Michael's for only 50 cents people! Go scour your local craft store for super cute ornaments. This whole project cost about a dollar and took about 15 minutes to make.

Tomorrow the December Bad Girls kit goes live so make sure to check back here or at the site to see what all Wendy has up her sleeve.

Til then,

Have a Happy Wednesday...it is Wednesday right?!?!

My poor abandoned blog.

So I think my blog is a bit depressed that I have been ignoring it lately! Poor Poor thing. Well now that Thanksgiving is out of the way there should be a bit more time to devote to this sad lil sucker and get back on track with the 5 Faves Friday!

First things first:

Thanks to Dena Simoneaux for giving me the I love your Blog Award and Your Blog is Fabulous award. She is such a sweet and talented person. Heck, she has to be, her name is Dena right?

Thanks to Audrey, who just celebrated a birthday, for sending me the Marie Antoinette "Real Person" award. I am having such a great time getting to know Audrey more and more each day.

And finally thanks to my girl Jeni for the Kreativ Blogger Award. If you haven't stopped by Jeni's blog before or checked out her work, please do. She is INSANELY creative and talented and funny on top of that! Triple threat people!

Although my blog is definitely not worthy of any of these accolades, I appreciate each person who stops by and takes the time to say hello!
Next up:
How about a peeky at the Bad Girls December kit!

This kit is definitely for those who love shabby chic!

Here is a fun project that I made for Webster's Pages that uses their magnetic Expressions board.

You can customize your own board, by choosing a size and background frame, your magnetic background and the kit accessory board to go with it. Oh and by the way, the backgrounds are double sided so you can reverse them as needed. To make this project, I simply picked up a few $1 items at Michael's and attached them to the board using repositionable adhesive or magnets. This way I can easily swap out my accessories after Christmas is over.

Well that is all for now, I know I am forgetting something..but ohhh well. I am sure it will come to me at 3 am! Have a fantastic Monday. I know that YOU all know just how much I loooove Mondays LOL

5 Fave Fridays!

THANK GOD IT IS FRIDAY! This felt like the week that would NEVER END! I am in some desperate need of sleep people. We have new neighbors next door and I am guessing it is a bunch of college age kids or something because whomever it is, has like 3 0r 4 cars there at all times and they are coming and going at all hours. Like 3:30 am this morning when they were outside laughing and talking as loudly as possible. Seriously 3:30?!?! I can tell that John is going to have one of his awesome freak outs within the week.

Ok enough of my rant, on to the 5 good things this week:

#1.- Get Smart and Kung Fu Panda- John brought home both movies this week and I loved both of them! I really really liked Get Smart way more than I thought I was going to. It was pretty dang good. And the Rock, well he is a feast for the eyes.

#2.- I am seeing some SUN! Ahhhh the blessed sun and we have more days ahead of us. This is big people. Big for Oregon.

#3.- Here are a couple of blogs I have been loving lately:

#4.-This fabulous purse! I have been eyeing this baby for months now and DesignMom is having a giveaway for guess what purse?!?!?!?!!!!

#5.- Scrappy Fave of the Week-Making Holiday Gifts. So far I have made 1 birdhouse ornament, a banner, a table centerpiece, a holiday recipe box, several cards and a huge Christmas Idea Center. It has been a busy craft week here at the ol homestead.

Ok I shared mine, now you share yours!

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

A nip in the Air....

Brrrrrr! it is cold and my toes are like itty bitty ice cubes. Winter is definitely on its way. And how do I know that?

Well because the kick off for Bad Girls 2nd Annual Christmas Workshop is this Friday! Now what does this all entail? How about 22, count them 22 FREE classes that are being offered. Prizes and give aways galore, guest designers and more.

Here is a peeky at my class:

Grab some hot buttered rum, your scissors and come get in the Holiday Spirit with us at Bad Girls!

This weekend I went to a crop with some friends and I got a record 6 layouts and 3 cards finished. Now that may not sound like a lot to most people, but when you scrap at turtle speed like I do, well 6 is a lot. My first layout took me 4 hours to finish. I had a lot of fun and actually left my house. I will post some of those layouts later in the week!

As with every Monday, the Design eXperiment challenge is up! This weeks challenge:

Create a layout about a choice you have made in your lifetime that you may have questioned in the past, something that your response has always been: "I'd do it again."

Here is my layout:
I stumbled across this picture of Zoe and I. She had just turned 2, I was 24 and looked about 12. It kind of struck me how young I was and how fast time has flown since then.

Journaling: So many decisions in my life brought me to you! Yes, I was young and a bit scared too, but every wrong or right choice I have ever made has brought me to you. Would I do it again? U bet.

Ok I am going to go warm up with a blankie and some chicken and dumplings (YUM!) Hope that all of my friends out there are doing well :)

Hugs

Five Faves Friday....the late night edition

Ok so I am barely sneaking in my list at the last moment here BUT I have made it at least.
let's start the list off right with:

#1. Russell Stover Urban Modern World Chocolates- Wendy AKA Miss Bad Girl herself sent everyone on the Bad Girls DT some fabulous treaties. And this box of chocolate was among those. Not only are these chocolates BEAUTIFUL to look at (I felt bad even eating one) but they come in an amazing array of flavors such as Grapefruit Ganache, Pistachio Nougatine and my favorite...Key Lime. OH and the box is brilliantly designed! Seriously, this box of chocolates would make a fabulous gift or stocking stuffer for the chocolate lover in your life! or for yourself ;)

#2. Apple-Peartini's- YUMMO! This week I went out for lunch and martini's with my Mom and I had a LOJITO (which was like a mojito but had this lemongrass-lime soda) and some super tasty garlic mushrooms and a french dip. Well after we had our drinks, John and Zoe wanted to go out to dinner, so we went to McMenamin's and I had my fave drink there, an apple-peartini. And man are they ever good. McMenamin's makes their own pear brandy and it is to die for delicious.

#3. Fave song on Guitar Hero World Tour- They have THE CULT! I actually think that this Guitar Hero is the worst one yet, like they didn't even try on this one. But there is a nice mix of music. I will give them that...Sting, TOOL!! YES TOOL!, but I am having fun rocking out to The Cult. We haven't gotten all the songs yet, so I am excited to see what else may be up their sleeves. Like we know HOT FOR TEACHER is on there. Anywho, just glad to see some love for my boys.

#4. A few bands that Zoe girl and I have been listening to are Avenged Sevenfold (Zoe loves the song Bat Country), Killswitch Engage, she is all about Mudvayne right now too LOL (crazy kid) and one of the house faves CLUTCH.

#5. Scrappy Fave of the week- C&T Publishing products. Now what is C&T you might be asking yourself right now. Well, the mainly deal with all things quilt related BUT they do create awesome Blank Board Books and alterable items. Plus they just started a new blog as well. Check out my side bar for the link :)

I just wanted to add that I am super excited about how many people are hopping aboard the Five Faves train!
Here are some more 5 Faves Lists for your viewing pleasure!
Anna Bowkis- Miss Pencillines herself :) http://www.scrappingtonight.blogspot.com/
Jen Matot- aka Sigmagirl and TOP DESIGNER 2008 http://arttalk-sigmagirl.blogspot.com/
and
So just as a reminder...if you are 5 Faves Fridaying it and want to be added to the list, please leave a post ok. Cause part of the fun of posting the lists is READING other peoples lists :)

Have a great weekend all!
