A Pencillines Project

So the huge Pencil Lines bash has finally ended and hopefully on a good note...with my project ;)
I chose to revisit the sketch from when I was a guest designer a few months back.
Here is the sketch #137:

This was the layout I created for my guest appearance:

                                     

And here is my updated version for the Birthday Bash. I was inspired by all of the beautiful Autumn colors around me. I used papers, letter stickers, velvet trim, pearls and brass buttons from the October Scarlet Lime Pumpkin Spice kit. I also tried a fun, new technique using Shimmerz spritz, which I will be posting on the Shimmerz blog later this week!

This sketch is so fun and versatile, that I could think of a million other ways to use it. Well maybe not a MILLION but I think you catch my drift.

A special thanks to Anna for including me in her celebration...And did you hear the huge announcement? There is going to be a PENCIL LINES BOOK! It's gonna be released on December 14th! So very proud of Anna and excited to see this book in person :)

A quick heads up!

Pencillines is going to be celebrating its 3rd birthday this weekend. To celebrate, Anna is throwing a huge blog bash and we will be blog hopping and having giveaways and sharing some fabulous sketches. So make sure to check out Pencillines blog and my lil ol blog over the weekend to participate in all the fun!

Here is a quick run down:
It all kicks off Friday night with a "pass the parcel" blog hop. Game rules will be posted here Friday 16th at 8pm GMT.

 Midday Saturday we start our online crop with some of your favourite past guest designers; from new sketches, to archive sketches and step by steps. There is something for everyone! Whether you are a digi scrapper, conventional paper scrapper, love mini books or even cards, we have something for you all!


There will be prizes up for grabs too from My Little Shoebox, Pink Paislee, May Arts, 3ndypapir and My Minds Eye to name a few!

Think Pink with Shimmerz

It's October! That means it's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Everyone at Shimmerz wanted to show our support by showing our Pink!! For the whole month of October, the Shimmerz girlz will be sharing Pink projects BUT, we want you to get involved also. We want you to create projects using ANY Pink Shimmerz that you have! Any shade of pink. Then, upload it to the Shimmerz Flickr Group! Each Design Team Member will choose their favorite project, and each winner will receive something Pink!

Today, I posted my pink project up on the Shimmerz blog! I was inspired by two very special people to create this. My beautiful friend Joanie who is a breast cancer survivor and a HUGE awareness advocate. You have heard me talk about her before and most certainly will again. She is a constant source of inspiration to me. She put up the good fight and beat it! Sadly, it doesn't always end that way and my sweet friend Tina lost her mother after not one but two battles with breast cancer. She reminds me to keep my mother close to my heart and to treasure the time I have with her.  With these two people in mind, I created. Here is a little peek at what I worked on.

{644.5}

It has been a while since Jeni and I have been able to focus on our {644.5} challenge but yesterday I was inspired...Like a punch in the face, laid out flat on the floor inspired.

My inspiration: Go scrap a JUST SAY NO layout! A lesson I think we as women should do more often. Just say no! I don't know about you, but I feel pressured to be some kind of super mom on  daily basis. I need to accept that fact that I just can't do it ALL and to tell people NO! I don't know why that is so dang hard for me. But it is. Always has been, most likely always will be. But hell, if I am going to survive this crazy thing called life, I am going to have to stop being some kind of insane people pleaser and remember to make sure that I am happy once in a while too!

If you are feeling inspired or moved to create along with us. Hey now is the time to vent, let it all out on paper! Heck, isn't that part of the reason why we scrap? I know that it is for me and that I have been diverted in a different direction for a while. It feels good to scrap REAL!
